Vocabulary 词汇


Headphones/Earphones – small devices used to listen to audio

Ex. Many people are beginning to buy Bluetooth headphones because they don’t have to worry about tangled wires.

Tangled – knotted, messy, usually used to describes hair or wires.

Ex. My hair was so tangled in the morning that I had to shower before I brushed it.

Sewing – using needle and string to attach fabrics together

Ex. Knowing how to sew a button back onto a shirt is an essential life skill.

String/thread – the smallest unit of fabric, 线

Ex. If sewing is one of your hobbies, it is best to make sure that none of your threads get tangled, otherwise they may no longer be usable.

Fair – white-skinned or light-skinned

Ex. Chinese culture regards fairer skin more beautiful than darker skin.

Coworker – a more informal word meaning “colleague”

Ex. During my lunch break I watch a TV show with one of my coworkers.

Frame – 陷害,to falsely accuse

Ex. When she got older, she realized that her mother had been framed for murder and never actually killed anyone.

Expressions 成语


To “throw [someone] off” means to confuse someone. For example, if we pass each other every morning walking to work and one morning I don’t see you, it might throw me off.
