What was the last thing you did before drifting off last night? You were probably on a device: reading a book, surfing the web or checking social media.

A research shows that we need between 30 minutes to 1 hour to prepare for sleep, which means you should do something which can create a peaceful atmosphere for your sleep, such as reading a book, having a hot drink or doing a repetitive task like counting sheep.

Actually, when we pick up our phones, we interrupt such kind of preparation our brains need by extending the day together with all the stress and worry from it into our night-time hours. But I think it will be very hard for most of people, especially the young people to put the phone, tablet or laptop down. We now live in an era of information explosion, which also make us fall into a sense of anxiety that we may miss some important information anytime. It might be a new trip of one friend, a new law in relation to our work or any gossip about famous stars. Once you miss such kind of information, you may feel confused when you have lunch with your friends or colleagues tomorrow.

“If it is something you do last thing at night and first thing in the morning, then you are probably addicted. ” We shouldn’t forget this.

We now live in an era of information explosion, which also makes us fall into a sense of anxiety, or “fear of missing out”. It might be photos from a friend’s recent trip, a new law in relation to our work or any gossip about famous stars. Once you miss something like that, you may feel confused when you have lunch with your friends or colleagues the next day.

Good writing, I mostly gave you suggestions, not many corrections.

Haha, I guess I’m addicted to brushing my teeth and drinking a glass of water.
