When I was in school, I hated the sound which was made of someone scratching blackboards with their nails. Sometimes they just made that noise accidentally, when they wanted to clean blackboards. But sometimes they did that to merely make you uncomfortable because they knew you didn’t like it. Of course most of them were stupid, immature boys who liked pranks. Moreover, those kind of people liked to mock you as well. Though I don’t have chance to hear that sound anymore, there’s a sound that is familiar with it, which is made by forks, knives with dishes. I can’t bear it either. I usually get goose bump when I hear that noise.
The other sound I don’t like is ringtones, especially when I just graduated from university and had my first job. Actually I don’t really hate the ringtones, I figure that I’m just one of the kind of people who prefer text rather than answer phones. Generally as soon as I hear ringtones, my stomach will start feeling bad and my heart rate will speed up. I will take any chance to avoid answering phones as long as things can be done by text or emails. I know this may be a psychological problem, and I am trying to conquer this kind of anxiety. Nevertheless, it will still take me a little bit more time. Because I found that even I can make Chinese phone calls easily now, I still needed to work up my courage and concentrate more to pick up English phone calls. At my bottom of my heart, I don’t believe I can understand them well. I really need to work on this problem. Otherwise, it can be an obstacle in my career.
