Merit increase for new hire employees
Proposal A
According to company’s merit increase guideline, the employees who joined company before Oct. 1st need to do the year-end performance management program(PMP) and have a merit increase on next year’s Feb. Merit for these new hires will be prorated based on their service with the company and their year-end PMP.
The employees who joined company after Oct. 1st don’t need to do the year-end PMP and don’t have a merit increase on next year’s Feb. Year-end PMP and merit for these staff will be prorated based on their service with the company next time.

Proposal B
Merit increase for new hire employees who passed probation by Feb.2019
The new hire employees who passed probation by Feb. 2019 will have a merit increase. Merit for these new hires will be prorated based on their service with the company and their year-end PMP.
Merit increase for new hire employees who didn’t pass probation by Feb.2019
Considering the internal fairness and stability, the new hire employees who didn’t pass probation by Feb.2019 will not have a merit increase in 2019, but they still need to do the year-end PMP. In 2020, the percent of merit increase for these staff will be prorated based on their service month from their start date with the company and their year-end PMP.
