Traveling diary entry Oct.7 @Yosemite National Park

Today was really hard and tired due to we decided to leave our tour half one day to visit SF for free independently. I though I can take care everything since I had been there about 5 years ago and also city tour is always much easier for the people who was from another big city. But the reality is just the opposite.

I checked google map and though we could walked to Lombard St. from fisherman’s wharf within 20 mins, which is not so long for me to walk to someplace in Shanghai. But there are a lot of mountain roads in SF which means we need to alternate between uphill and downhill under the scorching sun and all of these were really consume our energy, especial for the aged people like my parents. So when we arrived in Lombard Street we all had no sense to take a pic or say anything and the only idea appeared in my mind was to stop the tour, look for a cafe, get a drink and sit down inside for a break.

Unfortunately I got some wrong bus info on line so I had to ask the local person for help. Finally I drop to take cable car which is super famous in SF and took a normal 19 bus from Lombard St. to City Hall.

Through this free independent tour, I hope we all can learn more about the life of local people, like walking in the street, or talking with people etc. Also I think I need to improve my independent traveling skill.

Today was really hard and tiring due to the fact that we decided to leave our tour for half a day to visit SF by ourselves for free. I thought I could take care everything since I had been there about 5 years ago and also city tours are always much easier for the people who are from big cities. However, the reality was just the opposite.

I checked google maps and thought we could walk to Lombard St. from fisherman’s wharf within 20 mins, which is not so long for me to walk to someplace in Shanghai. However, there are a lot of mountain roads in SF which meant we needed to alternate between uphill and downhill under the scorching sun and all of these things really consumed our energy, especially for the older people like my parents. So, when we finally arrived in Lombard Street none of us had the sense to take a pic or say anything and the only thought that appeared in my mind was to stop the tour, look for a cafe, get a drink and sit down inside for a break.

Unfortunately I got the wrong bus info online so I had to ask the locals for help. Finally I dropped taking the cable car which is super famous in SF and took a normal 19 bus from Lombard St. to City Hall.

Through this free independent tour, I hope we all can learn more about the life of local people, like walking in the street, or talking with people (socialising?) etc. Also I think I need to improve my independent traveling skill.
