Last week I decided to plan a travel with my family to America. I made the decision very temporarily because I came to think of that my parents and me all had applied a 10 years US Visa in about 3 years ago, but we almost forgot it.
There are a lot of things happened around us in these two years. My uncle had a sudden heart attack in the winter of last year. One month later, after he left the hospital, my grandpa was admitted to the same hospital for some heart problem and did a heart surgery.
Suddenly, I realize that my parents getting older which makes me feel a bit scare. Before that, I though they are young and healthy and we have much time to do anything. So we are used to delaying many plans, like traveling around the world, redecorating our house, etc.
Chinese parents, special for my parents’ generation, treat their child as their whole life. Even by now, some of my friends who have married and had a baby told me that they think their baby is the most important person in their life, and next is their parents, and next is their wife or husband. It sounds ridiculous. But it is the reality of Chinese family.

Suddenly, I realized that my parents are getting older which makes me feel a bit scared / which scares me a bit. Before that, I thought they were young and healthy and we have a lot of time to do whatever we want. So we are used to delaying plans, like traveling around the world, redecorating our house, etc.

Even now, some of my friends who have married and had a baby told me that they think their baby is the most important person in their life, and next is their parents, and next still is their wife or husband. It sounds ridiculous but it is the reality of Chinese families.
