Since we are in childhood, we hope that we can attend college or university in one day which is the choice of the majorities. However, people attend college or university out of various reasons. For instance, some people want to get new experiences, especially those go back to school after working several years. Some people want to receive further education to deep their research and increase their knowledge in specific field. In my opinion, most people go to college or university because they hope get a good job after years of study in campus.
When you apply for a job, most companies will check your education background. They set college education as one of the minimum requirements. Because they believe that through the four years study in campus, you get the essential knowledge and skills which make you qualify for the specific position in the company. Nowadays, many colleges or universities also offer lots of comprehensive classes such as second foreign language, basic major classes, experiments and lots of practice opportunities etc which fully prepare the students for future career. Besides, when studying in college or university, you get to raise the good habits and form mature attitudes towards life and work with the influence of the schoolmates and teachers. Compared with those do not receive university education, the people who receive education in university get used to the work quickly and they are more proactive and diligent.
As you can see from the above, to better get used to the requirement society, lots of student choose to go to college or university to prepare for their career.
