First thing come into my mind is since Jessie is helping me analyzing my English problems these days, then maybe it’s good for me to organize my own thoughts, and this might be a good start of my English learning with SmartEnglish.

The main reason that I want to learn English is for my career. I’m now in User Operation team, doing Customer Service. But I do hope to be in the Marketing team maybe 1-2 years later, doing oversea marketing for our app. And the job includes going abroad on official business. USA and Korean are the two countries with high possibilities. So yes, apart from English, I also need to improve my basic Korean skills. For the new position, the salary will be higher and working will be more challengeable.

Another thing I want to do is to be a self-media person. I hope that I am able to write English columns, film videos in English. And, surely I really want to make it looks understandable to English speakers.

Those are my dreamy lives.

And of course, dream does not play a good role on my eager to improve my English, failure does. Let me share you with 2 stories.

I once wasn’t qualified for a YouTube copy job. Basically it’s watching a YouTube video and write down it’s copy. I got only 95% of the content right(they need 99%), I’ve never heard of the words I couldn’t write down but they are very common vocabulary for native English lives.

Then there was a time I couldn’t understand several specific sentences, which really held me back from the understanding of the whole passage. And I lost the chance to be a member of a subtitle group for independent games.

During the failure experience I was very frustrated and shocked. My English skill might be better than many people already, yet I want it to be 99% percent perfect, after all it is both my professional needs and interest. Jesse told me I could do that with a consistent practice with him. That really cheers me up. I think Jesse is a very good teacher, he’s always kind and patience, trying to solve your problem. I’m little strain on the budget and he could really understand that and try offering me the most reasonable price and task.

So maybe you can’t believe it, but this is my first formal diary, in English. I’m always poor at writing, back to the time I took the IELTS at university, I only got 6 for writing. And yes, my poor vocabulary really helps. I decided to take 30 min everyday before lunch to write something, anything in English. Now it’s time for lunch. Tata.
