Chat at the diner
One day a friend from Sweden chatted to/with me at a diner. He had a common appearance but always with happy expression cross his face.
Since I liked western food, I asked him some questiongs about it. He said he liked to eat veal, steak, especially big hamburger with thick ground beef and double pieces of cheese. He used to travel to Germany, which/where was famous for its sausages and pork chop. He said German worked very carefully and they wouldn’t cut corners at work. It’s a good example for Chinese people. Sometimes we achieve our goals too fast. We don’t need to do things by the book or cut corners. We should accomplish our goals in moderation.
I said I liked pizza with so much cheese and ketchup and kinds of vegetables and meat, but sometimes I had to pick out chillies because I was not interested in spicy food.
After a chat, we had a good meal. Both he and I enjoyed the food.

He used to travel to Germany, which is famous for its sausages and pork chops. He said Germans worked very carefully and they wouldn’t cut corners at work. I think this is a good example for Chinese people to follow. Sometimes we achieve our goals too fast. We don’t need to do things by the book or cut corners. We should work in moderation and stop to smell the roses.
I said I liked veggie and meat / supreme / kitchen sink pizza with extra cheese and ketchup, but sometimes I have to pick off the chillies because I don’t like spicy food.
After a chat, we had a good meal and both he and I enjoyed the food.
