Vocabulary

baptize (v): 1-to make someone officially a member of the Christian Church in a service of baptism:
E.g.: Were you baptized a Catholic?

niece (n): 1-a daughter of your brother or sister, or a daughter of your husband’s or wife’s brother or sister
nephew (n): 1- a son of your sister or brother, or a son of the sister or brother of your husband or wife

euthanasia (n): 1-the act of killing someone who is very ill or very old so that they do not suffer any more:
E.g.: Although some people campaign for the right to euthanasia, it is still illegal in most countries.

sibling (n): 1-a brother or sister:
E.g.: I have four siblings: three brothers and a sister.

maternal (adj): 1-related to a mother’s side of the family:
E.g.: Her maternal grandmother (= mother’s mother) is still alive.

paternal (adj): of or like a father:
E.g.: He’s very paternal (= showing the affectionate feelings of a father) with the baby.
E.g.: My paternal grandparents (= my father’s parents) were Irish.
