Vocabulary 词汇
Address – noun, the physical location of a place on a street, in a city and country.
Ex. When you send something via the postal service, you need to clearly write the address on the package.
Address – verb and noun, to speak to someone or a group of people in particular
Ex. After the war began, the president quickly addressed the entire nation.
Ex. The presidential address took place quickly after the war began.
Ex. When addressing a teacher, it is important to use respectful language.
Perfect – adjective, without flaw, nothing wrong
Ex. The artist’s painting was completely perfect and had no visible mistakes.
Perfect – verb, to make something more perfect
Ex. When he first started studying art, his painting skills were not as good as they are today; he spent years perfecting his talents, and now he can make beautiful paintings.
Pollute – verb, to make something dirty with waste
Ex. Although people complain that the streets are too dirty, you seem them polluting the city daily anyway.
Ex. China’s major cities are infamous (famous for a bad reason) because they have pollution so serious that masks should be worn.
