Daunting – seems too challenging or too big/much to do. eg: “I can’t be a manager because it is too daunting to me.”
What do you call a person who can speak three languages? Tri-lingual. How about two languages? Bilingual. How about one language? American.
Openings – an open position in the company. eg: “We don’t have any opening in our company.”
Evacuate – safely get all the people away from the dangerous place eg: “People got evacuated from a smoking bus.”
recall – for a company to take back a bad product. eg: “Samsung has recalled the Galaxy Note 7.”
Minor/Major (adj)- of small relativity/Large relativity. A minor problem, or a major problem. eg: “I had a minor problem with my computer, but the IT guy fixed it”
Minority/Majority (n) The majority ethnicity in China is Han. There are 55 minorities.
Urged – Strongly suggest something. eg: “My mom urged me to come home before 12am.”
Demonstrate – to show how something is done properly. eg: “Tony had to demonstrate how to use the word ‘demonstrate’ in class for Chu Yi.”
Transcribe – From voice or audio to written. “In court there is usually someone transcribing everything the lawyers say.”
