Vocabulary

adhere – stick to rules/a surface

ex. Many drivers adhere to traffic rules to avoid getting fined.

footpath – a path for people to walk along

ex. The footpath nearby is always crowded.

handrails – a rail fixed onto a post or wall to let you hold on to when standing on the bus/subway

elderly people/older people/seniors 

disabled/adj – having a physical or mental problem that makes it hard for them to move around

ex. disabled person

ensure – to make sure that sth will happen/is certain

ex. Drivers follow the rules to ensure road safety.

ex. We need to ensure that there is enough water when there is a drought.

arrive – reach a place/destination

ex. Jerry spent 6 hours on the train before he arrived in Paris.

ex. What time will you arrive tomorrow?

chilli – spicy red or green pepper that makes food hot and spicy

noon – 12 lunchtime
