2VIP Class Notes (Consultant)

It’s been a couple of weeks since our last class so we mainly focused on reviewing what we’ve learned before. I checked Angela’s writing homework and talked with her about her New Year’s day holiday. Angela is a lot more willing to speak in English and is a bit better at forming sentences and voicing her opinion.

Angela should be more careful with her writing. She sometimes misspells words or forgets punctuation marks. These are all things she can fix by herself. When I told her to check her work she seemed confused. I hope she gets into the habit of checking everything she writes, especially punctuation marks.

We reread Lots of hearts. Angela can read the whole book fluently and is very familiar with the material. However, some of the core vocabulary she still had trouble memorizing. Words such as tape, bows, and bone. She also mixes up card and cards, heart and hearts. When she is reading I hope she will remember to use her fingers as guidance and pay attention to details. We reread the book 3 times and talked about the words that she had trouble remembering.

After Lots of hearts, we took another look at Otto the cat. We mostly focused on comprehension. Vocabulary in Otto the cat is easier but it’s very important to understand the logic of the story. At first Angela had trouble understanding that
