Grammar

The vs. A

The – when we know which one, or there is only one of something
But: page 90 is already very clear, so we don’t need to add the

A – when it doesn’t matter which one

When using a verb that has a preposition (put down, go out), you put the preposition after the noun.
e.g. I put the pen down.
e.g. I threw the trash out
(Similar to use of 了 in Chinese: 我去图书馆了)

Which vs. As/Like
Which is used to connect two small sentences, and show that the two parts talk about the same thing: This is something which I do every day.
Which also allows you to explain something else about a noun: the dog which is brown.
Like and as are used to show that something is done in the same way every time: I at a baozi and heimizhou today, as I do every day.

Next vs. Then – then is used in a sentence to show that one thing comes after another
e.g. First, we will go on the boat, then we will eat lunch: this . . . + then . . .
Next is used before nouns, or at the beginning of a sentence.
e.g. Our next class, will be on Wednesday.
e.g. Next, we will eat lunch.

Interesting vs. Interested – interesting is about a thing; interested is how it makes you feel.
e.g. Because I am interested in Chinese history, I found this book on the Ming Dynasty very interesting.

2018.09.05 Diary of Tuesday’s night
I went back home by underground after I had finished my English class, that took me 1 hour to do it. Then I arrived at home and put down my bag on the sofa which I do everyday. Then I went to my bedroom and lay on the bed because I was studying hard all the day and I was tired. I need to take a rest. After that, I got up and dis my homework where beside my own table when my father and mother were chatting about their work. I finished most of them except one. That is recited the new words on the page ninety that there are 60 new words. First, I read them again and next I tried to recited all of them, finally I asked my mother help me to wrote from memory. My mother said Chinese and I write English. I finished my homework in just twenty minutes. That is not a long time for me, so I feel very happy about it. After I finished my homework when the time was not too late than usual. I put my books in my bag in order and sat on sofa read my interesting books. I read a book that is about Chinese history and culture which is a book explain the things happens in China in the past. I like this book very much because I am interesting in history. When it is got late finished my dinner which was very delicious and then I took a bath for cleaning my body and brushed my teeth as usual that took me 10 mins. And finally I went to bed at nine thirty in the night when the time was not too late

I put (arranged) my books in my bag in order and sat on sofa to read my interesting books. I read a book that is about Chinese history and culture which is a book explains the things that happened in China in the past. I like this book very much because I am interested in history. Once it is got late and I had finished my dinner, which was very delicious, and then I took a bath for cleaning my body and brushed my teeth. As usual, that took me 10 mins. And finally, I went to bed at nine thirty in the at night when the time it was not too late.
