Demo Class Notes (Sophie – Nick)

Write a diary about what you do every day. Try to use the vocabulary we learned today.

Vocabulary

Lake – a lot of water, not moving, without salt
e.g. Hangzhou is famous for being on the West Lake.

Diary – when you write about what you do every day

Yawn – when you are tired and you open your mouth very big
e.g. I was very tired, and so I began to yawn.

Tongue – 舌头 (shitou)

Pant – when a dog is tired and puts their tongue out of their mouth and breathes fast
e.g. The tired dog stopped and panted.

Breathe – to take air in and out of your mouth
e.g. When you swim very fast, you have to breathe very fast.

Fur – the hair on a dog
e.g. When a dog has a lot of hair, it looks fat, and cute.

Beard – when someone has hair on their chin
e.g. Sophie’s Dad has a beard.

Football – 足球
e.g. My new teacher, Nick, likes to play football.

Goalkeeper – 守门员
e.g. Only the goalkeeper can use their hands in football.

Bow – a small thing to put in your hair, for girls only!
e.g. I like to wear a bow in my hair.

I had English in my school. A little bit time to learn some English maybe. I learned math. I like math. We don’t have any swimming. I like swimming best. Before I am in Korea I speak English too. But in Korea I am in English all the day, every day. Just whole day I learn English in Korea.
