Original:

People always assume that we are on the top of the food chain, but our lives are actually so vulnerable that we could be killed by a lot of things like diseases, extreme climates and lack of water. If a cataclysm happens and wipes out most of life on earth, including humans, there will still be a specie surviving. They are tardigrades. These magical microscopic animals seem to have superpower. According to scientists, some of them can withstand shocking heat or extreme cold, others have survived in the deep ocean or vacuum of space. Scientists really have tried hard to test tardigrades’ upper limit for heat and radiation exposure, and they suggest that if an asteroid with enough energy to incinerate the oceans, it could get rid of these toughest animals, which is not likely to happen.
