Vocabulary

At first (adv): 1- in or at the beginning.
E.g.: At first, I thought he was joking but then I realized he meant it.

Premenstrual Syndrome (=PMS)(n): 1- premenstrual syndrome : (= a condition in which some women experience unpleasant physical and emotional feelings for a few days before their period.
E.g.: I get a lot of mood swings if I’m suffering from PMS.

Military (adj): 1- relating to or belonging to the armed forces.
E.g.: He argued against making cuts in military spending.
E.g.: Spain was an important military power in the 16th century.

Unstable (adj): 1- not solid and firm and therefore not strong, safe, or likely to last. 2- An unstable person suffers from sudden and extreme changes in their mental and emotional state.
E.g.: That chair looks unstable to me.
E.g.: It is a poor and politically unstable society.
E.g.: She’s very ​emotionally unstable.

Bankrupt (adj): 1- unable to pay what you owe, and having had control of your financial matters given, by a law court, to a person who sells your property to pay your debts.
E.g.: He went bankrupt after only a year in business.
E.g.: The recession has led to many small businesses going bankrupt.

Constitution (n): 1- the set of political principles by which a state or organization is governed, especially in relation to the rights of the people it governs.
E.g.: Britain has no written constitution.

Privilege (n): 1- an advantage that only one person or group of people has, usually because of their position or because they are rich. (Adj: Privileged)
E.g.: Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege.
E.g.: Senior management enjoy certain privileges, such as company cars and health insurance.
E.g.: He has always been a very privileged person.
