Vocabulary

Cram school – Extra schooling after regular school

Advanced – very high level

Remedial – something very simple/easier
eg. His math skills were not good so he had to take remedial math.

Grammar school – top/private school

Principal – the head of the school

Extra-curricular – something after school that offers additional learning

Stereotype – something you believe to be true about all people from a group/country/place

Pre-school (3yo-5yo) –> Primary school (5-6 yo) –> Elementary school (6yo-10yo) –> Middle school (10yo-14yo) –> High school (14yo-18yo) –> College (diploma) or University (Bachelors)   –> Master’s degree –> PhD in graduate school

Social etiquette/social skills – what people should behave like in society (polite, good manners, help others, team work)

It rubs off on them/me – something that is around you and affects the way you speak/do something/etc
eg. My girlfriends chinglish rubbed off on me. So my English is getting worse.

Recess – a short break period at school

Exercise – to do some physical activity

Sand pit/box – a box of sand to play in
