Vocabulary

Copy Editors/Proof Readers- They usually look for mistakes in documents and change them to make it better.

Copy Writers- Usually work in advertisement agency, writing scripts and other commercials.

Binder- Where you keep papers or other documents.

Privacy Issue- Something that concerns information that people want to keep private.

Stable- Place where the horses are kept

e.g. My cousin owns horses and keeps them in the stable.

Hercules- A half-god who was very strong and managed to do many amazing things in Greece

e.g. Everyone thinks Hercules could kill a lion with his own hands.

Herculean Task- Something that really needs a tremendous amount of time and energy to accomplish.

e.g. My boss expects me to finish all the work within a day, by myself. It really is a herculean task.

Agean Stables- A place that keeps horses that was so dirty, it was impossible to clean. Hercules only cleaned it by letting the river run through.

Sisyphus- Greek mythology, a king who is punished by pushing a stone up the mountain

Sisyphean Task- A kind of job that doesn’t really get anywhere, just like Sisyphus pushing the stone up the mountain only to have it roll back down again and again.

e.g. Everything I do, he always says the opposite, it feels like a sisyphean task talking to him.

Prometheus- A person in Greek mythology who is chained at the top of the mountain, and every day, an eagle eats his liver and it grows back again the next morning.

Dedicated (Adjective)- When someone feels very strongly about something and gives extra efforts to do it or complete it.

e.g. My boss is the most dedicated person I know, sometimes he sleeps in the office!

 Dedicate (Verb)- To offer something in an emotional way, to someone or something.

e.g. I dedicate this book to my two children Harry and Lily, they are my stars.
