VIP Class Notes (Vicki)

Writing exercise

I never thought of this topic before as I’m the type of person taking things as they come. Although I did make some decisions that might change my life, I don’t think they are that important. I chose my college and my major. I decided not to continue to study abroad. All turned out that the effort I made, the result I got and the situations I confronted became more important than the decision itself.
However, after Su Bin Tian stood on the final track of the Olympic 100m dash, I planned to run a 9.83km to memorize his achievement. During my jogging, I realized that there’s one important decision I’ve made – starting to run.
It could be traced back to 2013 when I travelled to The States and happened to witness their government shut down. All the free museums and galleries were not open for public. My only entertainment in DC became sitting at National Park and watching people working out. All I remembered were blue sky and exercising people then at that very moment, I decided to start running when I went home.
Running makes me stronger both physically and mentally and guides me to explore more. Obviously running keeps my body fit, I get to know what aerobics is and how metabolism works in our body. I started running only for 3k or 5k, after accumulated training I reached 10k, 20k until full marathon course. I often encourage myself that if I could finish a marathon, I could complete anything I want. Running also takes me to the views that others may not reach. When we’re on the trip, my mates might still lay in on the bed, I’ve put my shoes on to measure the city with my footstep and to see the sunrise and sunset they missed forever.
Now running becomes a part of my life and inspires me to dream bigger.
