Grammar

PRESENT

present simple – do/be 
general fact; an action that happens often. (often, usually, always, rarely, sometime….)
i.e. I am a student.
i.e. I like tea.

present continuous – ing 
an action that is happening right this moment
i.e. I am typing.

PAST

past simple – was/were/did 
general fact about the past or in the past; an action that happened in the past 
i.e. I was a student in 2019.
i.e. I ate dinner at 7pm.

past continuous – was/were + doing 
specify a specific action in the past at the specific time
i.e. I was doing my homework just now.

past perfect – have/has done 
something that happened in the past and is now finished 
i.e. I have finished this homework yesterday.

FUTURE

future simple – will/shall do 
promise or prediction of the future
i.e. I will go to school tmr.

future continuous – will be doing 
specific action at a specific time in the future 
i.e. I will be sleeping at midnight.

future perfect – will have done 
promise that an action will be finished at a specific time in the future
i.e. I will have finished my dinner by 7pm.
