Vocabulary

eg: We don’t really use a syllabus.

immigration – when you move to a new country permanently

eg: A lot of immigration laws are changing in America now.

expat – short for expatriot, a person working outside of their home country.

eg: There’s about 150,000 expats in Shanghai.

pre-existing condition – regarding health insurance it means a health problem you had before you got insurance.

eg: One of new laws was to make sure insurance companies can’t deny people based on pre-existing conditions.

pre-school – any school before kindergarden

eg: My daughter is in pre-school now. I think she will go to a k-12 school. So she will be in school with all the older kids too.
