Vocabulary

indulge – to take or eat or have more than you need, just because you like it

eg: I used to indulge on food. I would always eat more than I needed.

eg: Your eyes are bigger than your stomach. You shouldn’t try to indulge so much.

spill – when something, like drink or food, falls out onto something

eg: I spilled some coffee on my dress.

modest – you usually say, you are not special or very great, just normal

eg: Don’t be so modest, you are really nice and smart.

eg: Our education in China teaches us to be modest.

eg: Chinese can be overly modest. Sometimes they can’t take a compliment.

arrogant – when someone thinks they are very great, better than other people

eg: He is a great footballer. But he is so arrogant, just always talking about how well he plays.

confident – you know how good you are, how strong your skills are

eg: I’m confident that I will pass the test.

eg: I got the job because I’m very confident. I know I can do it well.

funny – something that makes you laugh

eg: [ He is very funny. / He is very humorous ] (People don’t use the word HUMOROUS)

comedian – a person who makes you laugh, a job.

eg: He is a comedian.

eg: He thinks he’s a comedian. (He tells many jokes) (Maybe you don’t think they are all funny)
