polygamy -when you get married to more than one person

monogamy – when you get married to only one person

monogamous relationship – a relationship with only one person

eg: Most modern people prefer a monogamous relationship.

eg: There are some polygamous families in Utah, even though it is illegal.

monosyllabic – speaking only one syllable

eg: He’s so monosyllabic, it’s really quite boring.

monotheist (ADJ) – believe in one god

eg: Christians are monotheist, they believe in Jesus as the son of God.

polytheist – believe in many gods

eg: Hindus believe in a polytheistic religion.

eg: Polytheist religions are not bad, they are just another way of life.

atheist – does not believe in god

eg: Is China atheist or Buddhist? Most Chinese people are atheist.

typical

atypical – not typical

polyester – a cheap fabric often used to replace cotton

eg: I don’t like polyester clothes, they are uncomfortable.

prayer (N.) –

eg: You better pray you win, because the competition is really tough.

eg: He doesn’t have a prayer, he will fail for sure.

eg: I’m praying that the event will be successful.

agnostic – undecided about religion

eg: I’m agnostic, that means I am not sure if there is a god or not.

teflon – a material usually put on cooking pans, so the food doesn’t stick to it.

eg: You shouldn’t use metal on a teflon pan.

eg: Thailand has a teflon economy, they seem immune to the economic problems around the world.
