What time did you get off work tonight?

I got off work at 6pm.

I should’ve gotten off work at 6pm. But I stayed there until 10.

Are you off tomorrow?

I’m not off tomorrow. I have to work.

Can you take the day off? I’m going to Disneyland, you should join me.

No, I can’t take the day off.

When is your next day off?

My next day off is this Saturday.  I have Saturdays off.

horrible – very bad

eg: That food was horrible. I don’t wanna eat it again.

horror (N.) – the feeling of scary

eg: I don’t love horror movies. But I don’t hate them either.

eg: That movie is not scary. Why do they call it a horror movie.

operate – to manage or run

eg: He owns and operates that restaurant.

alimony – payments made to a divorced wife, because she was not working, supporting her husband when they were married

eg: In the U.S. women who didn’t have a job will receiver alimony after a divorce.

child support – payments made to pay for kids after a divorce

eg: If you don’t pay your child support the government will take money out of your salary.

Grammar

now, I’m sitting before the computer all day, and I feel my back hurt and my eyes uncomfortable – Now, I’m sitting in front of the computer all day, my back hurts and my eyes are sore.

Subject + Verb + Object – simple common grammar.

eg: He owns three clubs.


BE Done BY – You don’t know who did it, until you say in the end.

The three clubs are owned by the same boss.

The store was destroyed by the storm.

The store was destroyed. (By who?)


TWO ADJECTIVES:

scary (ADJ) – that thing makes you feel not safe

eg: That movie is scary.

scared (ADJ) – you feel not safe, because of something.

eg: I was scared when I watched that movie.

boring (ADJ)

eg: The movie is boring.

bored (ADJ)

eg: I’m bored of this movie.

a rush – a strong feeling of excitement, cause by a rush of adrenaline (some liquid in your body that makes very excited)

eg: My friend loves the adrenaline rush of skiing.

eg: Driving over 180km/h is really a rush.

eg: Skydiving is the biggest adrenaline rush.
