After Shanghai gradually opens up brands have not seen a rebound.
We expected a similar situation would happen in SH however it didn’t (happen).

How will brands tackle this strategically? / how do you see brands reacting to this situation?

The majority of the aim to go to HK was to purchase luxury goods. -> the main reason to go to HK was to purchase luxury goods  / for most people the aim was to purchase luxury goods at a cheaper price  

Several years ago they adapted so the price difference would be very small.

After the protests fewer and fewer people went to HK.

I am not sure if HK will become attractive again for shoppers 

They give you gifts to make up for the high price

Do you think HK will regain luxury sales.

It is about twice the pre covid level. 

I experienced it when I worked in Mont Blanc 

I see may people protested on the road, they were not allowing normal passengers to go.

This year many people in SH are talking about the HK protest and they mention they now understand better why people did that.

When you look at the stock price there is a team investigate their ESG.

If they do not care there is a risk to get a fine or scandals/

There are some big scandals related to Burberry using bad cotton.

More and more younger generations care about this.

Nowadays people care more and more about how brands take position on society issues and environmental issues. Does it constitute a risk or an opportunity for brands? How does it affect purchase intention? 

They will try to promote these new trendy – > these new trends
