Vocabulary

Nationalistic: Proud of your country.
eg. Americans are very nationalistic and so are Chinese.

Promotion (noun); Promoted (verb): When you are given a more senior role in your company and given higher pay.
eg. I hoped my boss would notice my hard work and give me a promotion this year. Last year, I was promoted to Managing Director of my company.

Emotional support dog: A dog you can take on an airplane, that helps you deal with anxiety/fear of flying. You need to get a license.
eg. I want to license my dog as an emotional support dog, so she can fly on my lap on the airplane, versus have to travel in cargo under the airplane.

Anxiety: Feeling scared, fearful or nervous for a long period of time.
eg. Many people suffer from anxiety. They often can’t sleep because they are anxious. Sometimes they need to take sleeping pill so medication to help with their chronic/constant anxiety. Emotional support animals can help people who suffer from anxiety to feel more relaxed and calm.

Comforting/Comfort: Makes you feel better. Can understand what you are feeling and wants to help.
eg. When I was a child, my mom used to comfort me when I was crying. Sometimes she would give me ice cream to make me feel happy. Sometimes children will find comfort with their favorite toy or blanket.
eg. Dogs are very understanding of human emotions, they like to to comfort their owners to make them feel better.

Positive energy: Good vibes, always happy, makes you feel happy too.
eg. My dog has positive energy and good vibes.

eg. In my job, I do strategy for companies and businesses and plan their future for the next year to three years.

eg. Tuition for American universities is very high – around 50,000 to 100,000 USD every year. In Canada, tuition is more affordable, costing maybe 8,000 to 10,ooo USD per year.

Scholarship: If you are a top student, sometimes there are special funds from rich people who gift the university. And the university gives the best students money.
eg. I was lucky enough to pay for half my university in scholarship money because my parents could not afford to send me to university because they had ten children. I got $22,000 USD in scholarship money.
