Vocabulary

Altitude (n): 1- height above sea level.
E.g.: We are currently flying at an altitude of 15,000 meters.
E.g.: Mountain climbers use oxygen when they reach higher altitudes.

Sight (n): 1- the ability to see.
E.g.: If your sight is poor, you should not drive a car.
E.g.:The old woman has lost her sight (= has become blind).

Commercial (n): 1- an advertisement that is broadcast on television or radio.
E.g.: After the commercial break, we will tell you the rest of the story.
E.g.: TVC = Television Commercial

Subtitles (n): 1- words shown at the bottom of a film or television picture to explain what is being said.
E.g.: The Chinese movie was shown with English subtitles.
E.g.: The evening news has subtitles for the deaf.

Voice-over (n): 1- in a television program, film, or advertisement, the spoken words of a person that you cannot see:
E.g.: Famous actors often provide voice-overs for commercials.

Narrator (n): 1- the character who tells you what is happening in a book or film. (v: narrate)
E.g.: Sir David Attenborough is the narrator on Planet Earth II.
E.g.: The Planet Earth II series is narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
