painful: causes pain; doesn’t feel nice/good; 痛的

e.g. this function is pretty useful for designers.

lyrics: the lines in a song

trust: believe; think whatever someone says is true

pay attention to: really care about; try to work out
e.g. many people really pay attention to the lyrics when they listen to a song.

understand: 理解
situation: 情况
to understand the meaning of a song, you often need to know the situation that the song writer was in

bump into a wall: 撞墙
trip and fall: 绊倒
e.g. when you bump into a wall or trip and fall, you can put on a band-aid/plaster.
