Vocabulary

1.ponytail= 马尾
ex: Lily has a ponytail today.
ex: do you like girls with ponytail?

2. earring= 耳环
ex: Lily is wearing earrings today because she wants to look pretty.
ex: My mom doesn’t have earrings.

3. bald= no hair
ex: he doesn’t need to wash his hair because he is bald.
ex: I don’t want to be bald because it is so ugly.

4. run an errand= 跑腿
ex: running an errand means you help someone to buy some things.

The five friends begin the game. They play happily near the farm. Chris Cricket is “it” in the first game. He sees something move under a leaf. He turns over the leaf happily but finds that it is just an ant. Then he sees a shadow move behind the tree and discovers that it is just a bush swaying in the wind. He continues to look around for his friends.

The moon is already out and the stars are shining when Chris finds all of his friends except Ray. Ray comes out of his hiding place. Then he suddenly remembers his light. He and his friends walk back to the tree log. They talk happily about the game on the way. When they reach the log. they discover that Ray’s light is gone.

Molly was a happy little girl. She had a father and a mother, grandfather and grandmother. Each of them had some work to do. Father and grandfather liked to work in the yard. Mother and grandmother did the work in the house. Molly helped them all. She ran errands for them. One day father, oh molly, will you do an errand for me? Please go to the store and get some grass seed for me.

As she started, she said “seed for father, bread for mother”. Just then grandfather saw Molly going out of the door. Here is some money, he said, please get me a box of string. Then grandmother called to her, please get some pins for me. Soon she came to the store. She got the seed, the bread and the ball of string. But she could not think what grandmother wanted. Was it candy? asked the man.
