2. period= 时段
ex: You can’t sleep during class period.

3. giant= very very big
ex: this is a giant car.
ex: he is a giant.

4. refrigerator (fridge)= 冰箱
ex: I have lots of fruits in my refrigerator.
ex: I have lots of ice creams in the refrigerator.

5. AC (Air Conditionner) = 空调
ex: I have to turn on the AC in the summer.
ex: I turn off the AC in the spring.

6. advice (noun)= 建议
ex: I have a good advice: you should eat breakfast every morning.
ex: Jerry gave me a good advice.

7. nickname (noun)= 小名
ex: Jerry’s nickname is Maomao.
ex: Lily’s nickname is Nini.

On Richard’s 7th birthday, he had a party at home. His mother made a pizza and his father baked a cake. Richard’s parents gave him a new dog. Richard’s friends loved his birthday party because they played with his new dog, but Richard was upset because his mother didn’t give the dog any cake to eat.

On Richard’s 10th birthday, he went to the beach with his friends. They swam at the beach and they went to the restaurant to eat. Richard’s friends like his birthday party, but Richard was upset because he didn’t like his present. His friends gave him a wallet but he wanted a baseball.

On Richard’s 13th birthday, he had a picnic. His mother cooked hotdogs and hamburgers. They ate delicious food and played baseball. All of his friends enjoyed his birthday party, but Richard was upset because the girls didn’t talk to him.

On Richard’s 16th birthday, he didn’t have a party. He went dancing with his girlfriend, and he had a wonderful time. His friends didn’t give him presents because he danced with his girlfriend all day long.
