Today we focused on:
Chapter “The Recipe” pg. 85
Vocabulary
instantly/adv – at once, immediately
ex. The poison should work instantly, but it doesn’t.
stroke – to move your hand over another thing over and over again
play-doh – soft, shapeable dough for making shapes
choc – short for chocolate
shrink – to get smaller
as good as dead – to be in great trouble or danger
ex. Boy is as good as dead if the witches discover him hiding at the back.
ex. You’re as good as dead if you eat a chocolate given to you by a witch.
whiff – a smell that is very faint
ex. He paused and caught a whiff of garlic coming from the kitchen.
swift – very fast
ex. They have a team of swift swimmers.
Speaking exercise
She tells them the candy can poison the children.
The children will turn in to mice.
Because when the children go to school and they turn into mice, the teacher will scream and have mice traps. The mice have like the body ball and running around in the classroom.
Because when the children go to school, they will turn into mice, and the teachers will scream and put out mice traps. The mice will run around in the classroom.
They will get mice traps.
They set up lay mice traps on the floor.
And I will excited.
And I will become/get excited.
