strained/adj – to describe a person who is worried, nervous

ex. She looked strained and had dark circles under her eyes.

Grammar

constrict – become tighter, narrow; limit an action or behaviour 压紧;压缩; 约束;束缚

ex. He hates wearing tight fitting clothes because it constricts his movements.

ex. She’s not very happy with her life due to the constricting rules she has to follow.

limit – restrict 限制, 限定

ex. I’m not going to limit my work scope.

ex. Work hours are limited to 8 hours.
