Vocabulary

rent – money you pay to use a place or live in a house

ex. I pay rent to the landlord every month.

collect rent – get money from tenants

ex. My landlord collects rent from a lot of people.

tenants – 租客

get/ask for a refund – get money back

ex. Everyone wanted to get/ask for a refund when the gym shut down.

independent – 独立的

ex. Most of my friends are young, independent people.

haters – people who hate a person/group

ex. He gained a lot of haters immediately after his comment.

non-compete agreement – a contract between two where one agrees to not compete with the other once the period is over
