Evaluating claims

Try to examine how reporters write newspaper articles. Which parts may be claims made by them? Evaluate whether these claims hold any weight.

Vocabulary

half past six/six-thirty 

unpredictable – changing so much that it’s difficult for you to know what will happen

ex. The weather is so unpredictable this week.

ex. Her mood is extremely unpredictable, you may want to wait for her to calm down.

confirm – prove/say that something is true

ex. The students can confirm that the lunch bell didn’t ring today.

ex. Can you confirm with your doctor that you’re fit to work?
