The world has been witnessing increasing tensions on global climate change. The government has informed everyone throughout the country of the repercussion of global warming and appealed them to take measures to impede its worsening effect. By contrast, some people argue that it is useless and irrelevant to prevent it by individuals and it is only governments and large businesses’ duty to make a difference. I am of the view that action by every single person is effective and helpful.
When everything done by individuals convene together, the effect of it can easily outweigh contributions what governments and large businesses are able to make, though efforts made by everyone is particularly simple and subtle while divided. For instance, the amount of electricity which an individual is expected to save is really small. However, when everyone on the earth set about saving electricity, CO2 emission is supposed to be largely reduced.
Alternatively, it sounds quiet ridiculous to import the duty to struggle against global warming only on governments and large businesses. Have those who supported this ever thought of who’ll take the responsibility eventually? Governments and large businesses are not large machines equipped with latest advanced technology which is capable of eradicating global warming effectively and efficiently. They are merely organizations which are composed of numbers of people. Now that we are all human beings, why can they make a difference while we cannot?
In summary, we can easily come into the conclusion that action by individuals is not useless and irrelevant but effective and helpful in order to fight against global warming, though individual’s power is usually limited.
