Writing exercise

I was a project manager for interior construction.
The whole project could be considered as 3 periods, before construction, in construction and maintenance.
My main work is to ensure the project completes on time and under budget.
First, I need to prepare a project schedule with all processing status and timing, to reach the deadline. This schedule should be very clearly, especially the milestones, such as, site takeover, client’s site and factory inspections, handover and store opening date, etc.
Second, I need to draft a manpower cost plan. How many teammates and how much hours are allowed to be involved. Normally, there are 2 teammates to work tougher, draftsman and project coordinator. Draftsman is helping on the shopdrawings, construction drawings and some documents. And Project Coordinator is working on the communication with site vendors and landlord, and also the time-to-time site checking.
Third, run the project. All the information was collected to me and reviewed by me, then passed for client’s comment or confirmation after passing my standard. For example, when the draftsman finished the shopdrawings, need to pass to me for review. If all the drawings are correct, I just sent to client for confirmation. If some parts are incorrect, I returned back to draftsman for revising till correct completely, then I sent to client for confirmation. Not only the shopdrawings, but site quality control, furniture quality control and purchasing control, etc. are all my work. Succeed a project is to ensure each step completes on schedule with good quality.
My main problem is sort of the communication part. I was a designer, and then a technician. So all the communication is focus on how to achieve the target, not messing up in the circle. Especially the communication with landlord is my weakness. I never clearly understood what they really want. Their behavior is hard to understand, quite like woman’s emotion. They spoke A on the table, but the exact thing they wanted was B underneath the table. I’m still not good at on it after 4 years of experience.
