Vocabulary

signal – xin hao

surgery = operation – shou shu

anesthetic – ma yao
eg. I had a local anesthetic for my wisdom teeth operation

ice pack – bing dai
eg. Yoko was holding an ice pack on her face

jaw – the bone that connects your ear to your chin

low key
eg. we had a kinda low key holiday…

neutral – not positive or negative

boring / bored
eg. Yoko is bored because she thinks Jesse is boring.

tiring / tired
annoying / annoyed
enjoyable / happy 
frustrating / frustrated 

cremate – to burn the body

pass away = die
eg. when a loved one passes away, we will cremate the body

decay – to go back to nature
eg. they wait 2 days for the body to decay slightly

vulture – bird that eats dead things

ceremonial grounds 
eg. they will bring the body to the ceremonial grounds for the ceremony

monk – he shang

as in – to explain sth
eg. We usually don’t work for July and August, as in, every year we only work for 10 months.

in fact because my husband had a business trip in chengdu so his company paid the ticket for him and after the business trip he could have 1 week of holiday so we decided to travel in the west of sichuan because in the west of sichuan it is the area of tibet. it was just like in tibet, so we think the culture there will be different but it was really different from city. we took 4 days trip there with a group of 4 people, it’s a little group. the first 2 night we slept in the hotel and the 3rd night we slept in air b&b in someone’s house, in some tibetan’s house. in the west of sichuan it was very poor but the view was so beautiful. there was green mountain and blue sky. the destination of there named setar. it was a little town but there they had the biggest school for learning how to be a monk.
