I saw a film named Path of the soul last weekend. It tells a story about some Tibetan worshipping road.
A guy who want to fulfill his father dream decides to go Tibet for worshipping. Some of their villagers want to join his trip when they heard his thought, one is butcher who want to atone his crime because he end up a lots of lives and a lot of bloods left on his hand; another guy is thinking that his fate is bad and he is suffering a lot of pain. The rest of group has a 8-9 years old girl, a couple which the women is going to be given birth, etc.
They prepare some necessary living goods such as clothes, shoes, food, tents, tools for worshiping which is made of wood to protect their hands from hurt. The guy will drive his tractor to take all the necessary goods.
With all the villagers watching, they start their worshipping path.
The whole distance from their hometown to Tibet is more than 2,000km. Due to the gesture of worshipping, they can only walk around 10km every day. Then it takes around one year to arrive. They have to face different weather conditions on the road, raining, stormy wind, heavy snow, low temperature, etc. The woman is going to give birth and they have to stop several days. After the woman checks out from the hospital, they restart and the women takes his child in the tractor. They also encountered lots of kind people who provide the house for living, who ask them to have tea and encourage them, etc. However, the worst thing is coming in the end when they are at the area around 150km to Tibet. Their tractor is hit by a car and the head is crushed. The car driver explains to them that he is hurrying to go to hospital since someone is suffering the breathe issue. They are very kind to let him go leaving the seriously damaged tractor. The only one solution to repair it is to buy some accessories from Tibet. So they decide to throw the head and pull the carriage by themselves. After they pull the carriage at a distance and then they need to be back and worship.
Finally, they arrive at the most sacred place which is the Potala Place.
They are so devout that they can overcome all the troubles, hurt, pain and nothing can stop them.
My deep feeling for this film is that I think they are really happy inside of their heart since they are clearly knowing where they will go and what they want.
However, the people like me without the belief will often get lost…
