snap at sb – to get angry suddenly at sb
eg. he snapped at me because he was in a bad mood

negligence (n) – “neg li jence” – when someone is not able to perform their basic responsibilities
eg. negligence in the police force is very dangerous and unacceptable

eg. he aftermath of the attack in Las Vegas was crazy and horrible

confide – to tell sb something that is personal
eg. Heidi confided in her friends about her dog

in the face of adversity – when confronted by difficulties and challenges
