VIP Class Notes (Jesse)

Use the vocabulary from today and last class in some writing – focus on past tense and use the word “which” to describe things. Also remember with nouns: which one / how many?

Vocabulary

check into the hotel / check in at the hotel

we know about each other for a long time – we met each other a long time ago / we have known each other for a long time

i know that – you know some information / fact
i know about that – to know something about a subject
i have heard of that – you have heard that name / sth about it, but you don’t really know it
i heard that / i have heard that – ting guo a song / a poem
i met him = the time i met him for the first time
i knew him = in the past we were friends / worked together / had a relationship etc… but now we don’t 
i know him = now we are friends / work together / have a relationship …

Li Zong Shen – I haven’t met him and I don’t know his music, but i know the name… = i have heard of him 

i had a test / i did a test 

we have a lot in common – we share a lot of interests

he’s the kind of person who will help a little cat on the street if it needs help.

caring & kind

a good sense of humor – sb who is very funny / likes to laugh

thoughtful – thinks of you a lot / does nice things for you

generous – giving / gives a lot to others
eg. he’s super generous, especially to people who need help

punctual – good at managing time
eg. it’s important to be punctual

procrastinate – to put things off until later / to do things at the last moment
eg. i often procrastinate about things I don’t want to do

version / edition – ban ben
eg. the iphone 1 was the first version of the iphone… and iphone 7 is the 7th.
