The chart gives an illustration of the variation of obesity of residents in diverse age groups in Charlestown in 1955 and 2015.
Referring to inhabitants in 2015, it can be clearly seen that Charlestown witnessed a substantial growth in obese population with age creeping up. Specifically, obesity was deemed as a critical problem from the age of 50 upwards, a majority of whom is classified as obese, particularly for those who aging over 60s with nearly 60 percent. In marked contrast to it, locals of ideal weight experienced a plunge to merely 5 percent among 60-69-year-olds, starting from the incredibly high 70 percent. Besides, there are sharp fluctuations in rest age groups, namely underweight and overweight residents, which are generally two minimal proportions of all.
Conversely, an opposite pattern can be found in 1955, where people who have overweight or obesity problems make up a relatively low ratio, even being zero under 40-year-olds, while inhabitants who weight ideally take the place of obese population, being the most popular figure and staying quiet constant which stood over 40 percent throughout 50-yea-olds (20-69) . When it comes to people who underweight, the number decline marginally to 15 percent in 40-49 age group before it surged up, eventually peaking at 41 percent over 60-year-olds.
While comparing statistics in two years, it is evident that obesity or overweight has posed a severe threat to modern people, which means that the health of people going from bad to worse.
