Homework
Use some of the vocabulary from today in some writing. Write something like a story and try to use the words.
Vocabulary
Sore-Â Â A small injury somewhere on your body, also can be in the mouth. Can also mean a feeling of pain you have in your body.
e.g. I fell off my bicycle and the next day, my whole body was sore.
e.g. I went home today because I had a sore in my mouth and it was very painful.
Engaged-Â It means when you have a serious relationship with someone and will marry them eventually.
e.g. I saw a very beautiful girl last night but when I talked to her, she told me she was engaged.
Topic-Â A specific thing you talk or read about.
e.g. What topic would like to talk about today?
Instrument-Â The type of object you use to make music with.
e.g. I play three different instruments; the ukulele, the guitar and the cello.
Survive-Â To do something that helps you stay alive.
e.g. I would like to survive by only playing music.
Famous-Â Known by many people
e.g. Fan Bing Bing is China’s most famous actress.
Strategy-Â Something that you plan so it can give you a good outcome .
e.g. If you want to be famous, you must have a good strategy.
e.g. Many businesses always plan their strategy a year in advance.
Financial/Finance-Â Anything related to money and wealth.
e.g. My financial goals for the next 5 years are to save 500000 RMB
Collaborate (verb)/Collaboration (noun)- When two or more people or groups get together and work with each other.
e.g. A lot of famous singers will collaborate with each other and do a duet.
Out-of-tune-Â When a voice or an instrument is not properly tuned.
e.g. I haven’t played my guitar in a long time, so it’s out of tune.
Tune (verb) -When you make an instrument sound like it’s supposed to.
e.g. I heard that tuning a piano can be very expensive.
Duet (noun)-When two people sing together.
e.g. I really love singing duets with my friends.
Orchestra- A big group of people who are all playing different instruments.
e.g. I love going to watch the Shanghai National Orchestra.
