There are Chinese everywhere.

My family is always full of love. My parents love me very much. My mother is a teacher. She is a very strong woman. She loves me but she try to control my life. When I was young my mom focused on my homework, and when I grown up, my mom focused on my marriage. My dad is much softer than my mom. My dad doesn’t good at speaking. He shows his love with actions. Like picking me up from school everyday and buying delicious foods to me. When I’m in university my dad gave me money behind my mom every month. She said I and your father can’t eat them so you can come here.

She loves me but she tries to control my life.

When I grew up, my mom focused on my marriage. (past simple tense)

My dad isn’t good at speaking. (present simple tense)

She said your father and I can’t eat it all so you can come over.

Writing exercise

If there are no women in the world, everything will changed and get worse. Men cannot reproduce, many years later, the world would become without human beings. If science solve this problem, it would also get worse, because women have strong purchasing power,without women, economy would get recession,and bad economy would bring bad lives.

If there are no women in the world, everything will change and get worse. Men cannot reproduce, therefore/so/thus many years later, the world would not have human beings/[human beings would cease to exist]. If science solves this problem/[If science can find a way for men to reproduce]/[If science solves male reproduction], the world would also/[still] get worse, because women are more willing consumers. Without women, the economy would go into recession, and a/the bad economy would bring bad lives.

Grammar

Active vs. passive voice – with active voice, the subject of the sentence is doing the verb. In passive voice, the subject of the sentence is having the verb done to it. Try to write mostly in active voice.

ex: Active voice: I ate the banana. Passive voice: The banana was eaten by me.

antecedent – the noun/idea that a pronoun or referential noun is referring back to. If you can’t be clear about what idea is the antecedent when you use a pronoun, it is best to use the specific noun again.

ex: The dog and the cat are best friends. It The dog is very cute.

Present/past/future perfect tense – Has grown, had grown, has been growing, had been growing

ex: He has grown up so much in the past year.

Vocabulary

purchasing power – one’s ability to spend money, usually based upon their income/net worth.

behind [pronoun/noun’s] back – to do something such that the other person doesn’t know about it.

Ex: I ate my brother’s ice cream behind his back.
