I donā€™t like singing; i just listen to music because lā€™m not good at how to controlling my voice or following the rhythm and I think my voice is very girly and which meansĀ  I cannot find the music style that fits me.Ā

When do you sing?

I have to say I almost never don’t sing; the only occasion where I would singĀ  is probably when I take a shower. itā€™s a relaxing time so I donā€™t need to care about other peopleā€™s opinions or how what they think of my singing – itā€™s very hard for me to sing in public even if when I go to karaoke with my friends. I will not sing I just listen to other people sing and clap my hands and be a good listener. Ā

WouldĀ  – to suggest a habitual behaviour

What + think of (think- intransitive verb)

Did you enjoy singing when you were younger?Ā

I think so. When I was a little girl I didnā€™t fear of singing in the public and I also attended a singing contest when I was in the primary school and I still remember the song I sang. I think I probably got a good result and my mother and father also watched the contest but now however I almost donā€™t sing at all and I become more and more conscious about my behaviour and appearance/looks and worry too much about other peopleā€™s opinions. But I still like listening to music and watching entertainment tv shows.Ā

Self-consciousĀ  – a state of caring a lot about what others think of oneself

what kind of trees do people usually plant in your country?

Actually I donā€™t know the name of the trees but I can describe what it looks like.Ā  itā€™s green all year round especially in summer days the tree leaves are so beautiful and in my country they like lining up the trees so when you walking in the street you can see a line of that kind of trees.Ā

Theyā€™re not only pleasant to the eye, but also provide shades for pedestrians.

Have you ever planted trees?

yes. It was a long time ago, when I was a student. In china we have a green day for environment conservation. itā€™s a day toĀ  improvethe publicā€™s awareness of environmental protection and to encourage them to plant more trees so when I was a primary student I planted trees in my schoolā€™s garden and I also hung a piece of papers where I drew some graffiti and wrote on it my name after that day though I didnā€™t take care of them again I almost forgot about themĀ

Though: at the end of a sentence to show concession

what do you always do in a hurry?

Actually I think I am good at time management so in general I donā€™t do things in a hurry. When I have a lot of things to do I will make a plan/schedule. At first, I will list all the things I have to do in a day, and then I will estimate how long it takes me to finish each task, and then I will prioritise the most important ones Ā  so that I can make a perfect time schedule and finish them one by one.Ā

good at time management –> Gooda timanagement

what kind of activities would you never do in a hurry?

I would like to say that eating food is the activity that is most worthwhile of your time. I think itā€™s the most important time of the Day when you eat food. And when youā€™re eating things you cannot eat fast or in a hurry; you have to feel/enjoy the flavour and the texture which is how the food feels like on your taste buds; and if you eat delicious food it will make you feel better.Ā  And eating good food is almost like a mental therapy – it helps relieve stress and help you rediscover the meaning of life.Ā

Digestion – the job your stomach does

do you enjoy your current stage of life?

Yes I enjoy it a lot. I think itā€™s a niceĀ  period of time in peopleā€™s life when youā€™re in your twenties. At first youā€™re young enough to challenge almost anything you want and donā€™t need to take so much responsibility of your families or other social responsibilities which means youā€™ve got numerous opportunities to find out what really suits you as a lifelong career . When youā€™re in your twenties, if you tried something and you find youā€™re not suitable you can change without worrying too much about the outcomes or the consequences.Ā

Be on oneā€™s period

At first doesnt mean “firstly”, it means originally

what’s your plan for your next stage of life?

Actually Iā€™m still anxious about my next stage planĀ

Iā€™m quite anxious about the next stage of my life as I donā€™t have clear plans yet. Iā€™m not certain about what to do next with my life: should I find someone to get married with? Or should I focus on my career for now? Everything is uncertain in my current stage of life so itā€™s difficult to come up with a plan for the future.Ā

as for me I didnā€™tĀ  donā€™t not satisfied with my current career so to me it takes time to design the career or next stage I worry about if I should get married or have a family so everything is a question for me.Ā

Come up with – to manage to find or create (a plan, an idea etc)
