Words that end with “y”, we should be careful about their plural forms in writing:
*remember that “a,o,e,u,e” are called vowels in English.
1. boy———> before y, there is a vowel——>plural form:
boys ( no change, just add s)
2. teddy ——-> before y, there no vowel——> plural form will be written by replacing “y” with “ies”:
teddies

** asking about things that are there at the present moment:
Are there any chairs in the room ?
yes, there are. There are 4 chairs in the room.
No, there aren’t. There aren’t any chairs in the room( always use any in negative sentence)
** asking about things that were there in the past moment:
Were there any teachers in the classroom?
Yes, there were. There was one teacher in the classroom.
No, there wasn’t. There wasn’t any teachers in the classroom.
