VIP Class Notes (Consultant)

It was great to see Jason again after such a long period of time. I can see that he is still very focused and attentive in class and I am truly glad to have him.

In class, we read a chapter in a nonfiction book called “cats vs. dogs”. Next, we read several paragraphs in a book called “Freak the Mighty”. Finally, we went through practice in his workbook. The first book was not as challenging as the second one. If we had time it would be really beneficial for us to diagram all the information in the nonfiction book to understand the underlying structure of the whole book. The second fiction book was longer and more of a challenge. Vocabulary wise it is not too difficult but comprehension wise it takes a bit more time. I believe Jason could benefit a lot from going through a book like this and getting a better sense of the characteristics of English. Jason did well in the practice. I think to go a further step he would need to read more.

Hope to see you next time!
