Q: Tell me about your boss.
– describe; who he is/appearance/personality/background (would?)
– do you like him? -> connection to you
– tell a story
-be careful of tense (descriptions: no tense=simple tense  events= past tense)

A: I would like to talk about my boss. He is 50 yearsold, he always wear polo shirts, grey polo shirts and he has no interest in fashion, I think. because he was the person who make the company become bigger, and when the company started in China, he’s the person who made the first store and started more new business in China. So he’s a person who admired by the company. However, he has very strong personality. He’s easy to anger, when he started to complaint about something, there is no stop. He may talks about the same thing almost 2-3 hrs all the time and always focus very small points. For example, when we started a meeting and someone was late for this meeting, he started to pick out something happened about this person before and talk with us about his family, his friends, and lots of episodes. However, those things have nothing to our agency. For me, he is a person worth respected. However, I still feel a little bit fear talking with him, because he is a little bit strict on me. When I show him something, some presentation materials, he pick me out some typing … and data mistakes, and he always asks me why you put this page on this presentation. He always asks me a lot of qs, and I need to think a lot how to answer very well. In the future, we will have more conversation about our projects. So I think I will learn something from him and I also think I need to be more confident when I talk with him.

A: I’m so happy you asked me about my boss because there’s a million stories I can tell.My boss is a truly amazing person/I think my boss is extremely interesting/worth talking about. He is 50 yearsold, he always wears polo shirts, no-brand grey polo shirts and he has no interest in fashion, I think. He’s very well-known/respected in our company/he has a lot of say in our company because he is the person who made the company become bigger. When our company’s China head quaters was built, he’s the person who made the first store and started new businesses in China./He built the China market. So he’s a person who admired by all of us in the company. However, he has a very strong personality, as all successful men do/just like all successful businessmen. He gets angry easily, and when he starts to complain about something, there is no stop/he can’t stop/no one can stop him. He may talk about the same thing for almost 2-3 hrs all the time and always focuses on very small /petty details. (For example,) one time we had a meeting and someone was late, our boss started to pick on that person. He chose something completely unrelated to talk/lecture about, so he spent hours talking to us about the guy’s family, his friends, and lots of past events that don’t even matter. Everything he went on and on about had nothing to do with our agency or the meeting itself. For me, he is a person worth my respect/worth respecting. However, I still feel a little bit scared talking with him, because he is a little bit strict with me. When I show him something, some presentation materials, he would pick out all the typos and minor data mistakes, and he always asks me why would /did you put this information here. He always asks me a lot of qs, and it takes a lot of time to answer him correctly/to give him the answers he wants./I have to think long and hard to answer him correctly, so I feel very stressed./so our meetings are always very stressful for me./I’m forced to answer all the time. In the future, I’m sure we will have more conversations about our projects/ work. So I think I will definitely learn a lot from him and I also think I need to be more confident when I talk with him.

Q: A movie you’ve seen/like
– what movie? when did I watch it? what is it about? summary
– why I want to talk about the movie
– tell a story
– for events, try time order? for descriptions, try degree? – some kind of structure I can follow
– try to stay in the same S, only change for a reason

It’s an oscar winning movie so I have saw the news on the internet so I searched this movie and watched with my frds The movie talk about a korean family, a very poor family living in warehouse. And the room is can have no windows and there are 4 people living together in a very narrow room. The story talk about the family how to change their lives in Korea. It’s a little bit tough movies, but there are some warm and funny stories/parts in the movie. The movie is a little bit heavy, and focus on the gap between poor and the rich class. The movie had get very successful in movie industry, and I talk about this movie with my frds. They were moved by this movie, and make them think about our society. In SH, there are so many young adults living in very small and humid rooms, however, they are strong for living but they never give up and fight for their life. Life is very tough but there’s always some hope.

A: I don’t watch movies regularly like I used to/as much as I used to, but recently I watched a korean movie called “parasite”. It’s an oscar winning movie so when I saw the news on the internet, I searched this movie/looked it up and watched with my best frds. So before we started, we had high hopes/expectations for the movie, but it didn’t disappoint us. The movie talks about a very poor korean family living in an old / dark warehouse. The living standard is inhumane, it’s hard to imagine a whole family can live in such a place. The room has no windows and the 4 people /have to live together in a very narrow/tiny room. Their lives are filled with poverty and suffering. Then the story talks about how the family changes their lives in Korea. It’s a little bit tough movie/The movie is tough overall, but there are some warm and funny stories/parts/moments.  The movie/It /I find it a little bit heavy, with a / because it focuses on the gap between the poor and the rich class. The movie got/was a huge success in entertainment industry and it created a buzz on social media. When I talked about this movie with my frds, I found that like me, they were moved by this movie, and it make them think about our society. The topic /theme of the movie made me think about where I live/our city. Just like/ in SH, there are so many young adults living in very small and humid rooms, however, even though they’re struggling so much, they never give up hope and fight for a better life in the huge city. It made me realize that life is very tough but there’s always some hope.
