Speaking exercise

Shared power bank has become hottest thing recently. But some people doubt whether it is just a passing fad because they doubt the data from the shared power bank companies, including the daily revenue, the daily active users, so one man decided to found out whether people will use power bank, so he choose the 3 biggest shopping malls in Beijing and watched the people, whether they use the power bank.

Unfortunately, few people took advantage of them, so he told everyone that shared power banks is a hoax because few people will use it.

I think it does make sense from 2 perspectives. Firstly, let’s think about the using scene. I don’t think people will have enough patient to just wait around power bank to charge their phone unless they are really hurry.

Secondly, let’s think about what if the power technology raised. We want to power bank mostly not because we forget to charge our phone, mostly just because the power bank is not strong enough to support our phone for one day.

So what if the power is strong enough to support our phone for one day or two days or even one week? No one will need power bank anymore.

It is really possible, so I don’t think shared power bank will last for long. Maybe startup companies just want to cheat investors for money. They don’t want to let people have a better life. They just want to let themselves have a better life.

Shared power banks have become the hottest thing recently.

But some people wonder whether it is just a passing fad because they doubt the data published by the shared power bank companies, including the daily revenue and the number of daily active users.

One man decided to find out whether people would use shared power banks, so he chose the 3 biggest shopping malls in Beijing and watched the people and whether they used the shared power banks.

Unfortunately, few people spent time on them, so he wrote that shared power banks were a hoax as few people (actually) used them.

I think it does make sense from 2 perspectives. Firstly, let’s look at the user experience. I don’t think people will have enough patience to use shared power banks to charge their phone unless they are really in a desperate situation.

Secondly, let’s think about what if charging technology improves?

(We want power banks mostly not –> We don’t want)

We don’t want power banks because we forget to charge our phones, we mainly want them because our batteries can’t last a day.

So what if our batteries are strong enough to support our phone for (=to last) one day or two days or even a week? No one will need power banks anymore then.

It is really plausible, so I don’t think shared power banks will last for long. Maybe startup companies just want to cheat investors for money. = make a quick buck

(They don’t want to help people have a better life. They just want to have a better life for themselves.)

= Maybe they don’t want to make your life better but only theirs.
